Ghost Bites (AB InBev | Anglo American | ArcelorMittal | British American Tobacco | Gemfields | Hammerson | Mondi | MTN Nigeria | Woolworths)

AB InBev got dumped, while the market celebrates British American Tobacco - but why? Anglo American is in the doldrums and ArcelorMittal is losing money at pace, while auction revenues have halved at Gemfields. Woolworths, MTN Nigeria and Hammerson are good-news stories, with positive trends at Mondi as well.

Glencore's production update shows a nasty drop in own sourced copper. AECI's turnaround is making good progress. Brimstone has been boosted by Sea Harvest. Accelerate Property Fund remains highly speculative. Orion Minerals released a quarterly report. Astoria is reducing its stake in OIH.

Ghost Bites (Boxer | Greencoat | Kumba Iron Ore | Shaftesbury)

Boxer's performance has accelerated despite negative food inflation. Kumba Iron Ore's self-help strategies are paying off. Shaftesbury is partying it up in London's West End. Greencoat wishes there was more wind.

Ghost Bites (Accelerate Property Fund | Sea Harvest | Spear REIT | Valterra Platinum)

It's all eyes on the second half at Valterra Platinum. Sea Harvest's numbers are even better than previously guided. Spear REIT announced another acquisition. Accelerate Property Fund received reasonable support for the rights offer.

Ghost Bites (AVI | Cashbuild | Hyprop – MAS | Merafe | Spear REIT)

Hyprop has terminated its MAS bid - but is this really the end? AVI grew despite a demanding base. Cashbuild is also in the green. Spear REIT announced an acquisition. Merafe is posting very worrying numbers.

Ghost Bites (Anglo American | Kumba Iron Ore | Primary Health Properties)

Anglo American's focus on copper and iron ore might be helpful, but De Beers is just getting worse by the day. Kumba Iron Ore is enjoying better service from Transnet. Primary Health Properties released solid numbers that could get the Assura deal across the line.

Ghost Bites (Adcock Ingram | AECI | Karooooo | Mr Price | MultiChoice | Northam Platinum | Santam | Spear REIT | Vodacom)

The take-private bid for Adcock Ingram is juicy to say the least. Mr Price had a tough June but a resilient quarter overall. MultiChoice got the green light for the Canal+ deal. AECI, Karooooo, Northam Platinum and Vodacom released financial updates. Santam is growing offshore, while Spear REIT sticks to the Western Cape.

Ghost Bites (Adcock Ingram | MAS – Hyprop | Reinet | Sasol)

Sasol closed 6% lower after a production update and trading statement. Adcock Ingram rallied after a cautionary. Reinet's NAV moved lower as expected. MAS has called the meeting that was demanded by institutional shareholders.
