Anglo American is ready to demerge Anglo American Platinum. Cashbuild has pulled the trigger on the acquisition of a few hardware stores. aReit has suffered large impairments.

GHOST BITES (African Rainbow Capital | Sirius Real Estate | Trematon)

The African Rainbow Capital offer is apparently fair to shareholders - after some mental gymnastics. Sirius Real Estate had a great year. Trematon's portfolio value keeps trending lower.

GHOST BITES (iOCO | Kore Potash | Renergen)

iOCO (previously EOH) has made strong progress in its margins. Kore Potash has suffered a wobbly with funding plans, but hopefully only a small one. Renergen released a quarterly update.

GHOST BITES (Bell Equipment | Metair | Metrofile | Zeder)

Metair released its annual report - but there's a key disclosure that I just can't find. Metrofile has caught the eye of a potential buyer. Zeder is disposing of some African businesses. Bell Equipment tightened its earnings guidance.

GHOST BITES (Astoria | Barloworld | Fairvest | Master Drilling | Oceana | Pepkor | Remgro | Santova)

Fairvest had no problem raising capital. Pepkor announced a major acquisition. Santova has also flagged a potential acquisition. Astoria, Barloworld and Oceana released difficult numbers. Master Drilling's dividend growth has distracted the market from impairments.

GHOST BITES (ADvTECH | Ascendis | Astral Foods | Burstone | Gold Fields | Grand Parade Investments | Premier | Raubex | Southern Sun...

ADvTECH and STADIO have shown how to make money in education. Raubex keeps delivering. Astral Foods is facing adversity again. Gold Fields is trying to acquire Gold Road. Look out for Ascendis, Burstone, Grand Parade, Premier and Southern Sun as well.

GHOST BITES (Choppies | Investec | Momentum | Shaftesbury | South Ocean Holdings)

Investec's UK business dragged down the group numbers. Shaftesbury is selling part of its Covent Garden stake. Momentum had an exceptional period. Choppies is doing well and South Ocean Holdings certainly isn't.

GHOST BITES (ArcelorMittal | Sabvest)

ArcelorMittal is still winding down the long steel business. Sabvest had a particularly good year in 2024, with NAV growth well above recent averages.
