MultiChoice released terrible numbers. In contract, the likes of AVI, Bidcorp, Premier, Quantum and Santam are navigating difficult conditions successfully. Mantengu Mining is ramping up. Metair is a step closer to getting out of Turkey. Powerfleet's cost savings are paying off.

Astral Foods and Lewis have a much better story to tell. Tiger Brands only has modest profit growth, but that's still better than Santova coming off the boil. Impala Platinum's production fell in the first quarter.
