Emira wants to take Transcend private and won't be paying a premium to the current price. Libstar and Sibanye have both suffered significant earnings drops, while Transpaco is headed in the right direction.

Earnings at Quantum Foods and a production guidance decrease at Pan African Resources were arguably the biggest stories on a day that included news from a few small caps on the local market.
